Hi Tom,

We parsed your RTF document. In your RTF, the hyperlink address is "https://pacs.MILLENIUMradiology.com/drpacs/Exams.aspx", please check the attached screenshot. The displayed address( https://pacs.charterradiology.com/drpacs/Exams.aspx ) is wrote into datafield data, but Word2007 and above version are not compatible with datafield in RTF.
We recommend you to modify datafield data in your RTF to the corresponding hyperlink value.

Amy

I don't have control over the incoming RTF file. It is coming from a 3rd party.

Hi,

Thanks for your response.
Based on your situation, our dev team did some modification for our source code to make the same hyperlinks in PDF as your RTF.
We will inform you when new version is ok.

Amy

Thank you Amy. We appreciate that.

Unfortunately, we can receive many different RTFs from multiple clients. There is no way for us to know how that file gets created. We are glad to hear you might have a solution.

Regards,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your further inquiry.
I recommend you to make your program output a message likes"The converted PDF has been generated successfully" when finishing RTF to PDF convertion.

Amy

Hi Amy. We do indicate to the end user that the file has been created. However, in this case, there was no way for us to determine if the hyperlinks were still functional. I didn't realize that they had broken until I clicked on one of them. At that point, I compared the PDF to the RTF and found that the RTF version had links that did work. So, essentially, everything looked like it worked flawlessly but it actually didn't work completely.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your further information.
You can use Spire.PDF component to get hyperlinks address of the converted PDF so that you can check if the hyperlinks are correct.
Share sample code to get hyperlinks address of the converted PDF by spire.pdf.
Code: Select all
  PdfDocument pdf = new PdfDocument();
            pdf.LoadFromFile(@"..\\..\\sample.pdf");
            List<PdfTextWebLinkAnnotationWidget> links = new List<PdfTextWebLinkAnnotationWidget>();
            foreach (PdfPageBase page in pdf.Pages)
            {
                PdfAnnotationCollection widgetCollection = page.AnnotationsWidget;
                if (widgetCollection.Count > 0)
                {
                    foreach (var obj in widgetCollection)
                    {
                        //Get the TextWebLink Annotation
                        if (obj is PdfTextWebLinkAnnotationWidget)
                        {
                            PdfTextWebLinkAnnotationWidget link = obj as PdfTextWebLinkAnnotationWidget;
                            links.Add(link);
                        }
                    }
                }
            }
            //Get hyperlink address
            string linkAddress = links[0].Url;

Hi,

We just released a new version of Spire.Doc. It includes the modifications that make the same hyperlinks in PDF as your RTF.
Welcome to test Spire.Doc Pack(hot fix) Version:5.6.3. New version of Spire.office needs more time than spire.doc to release. We will do our best to provide you a new version of Spire.Office soon and will inform you when it is released.

Best Regards,
Amy

We use Spire.Office in the same project now. I assume we should wait for that hotfix to be released as I recall there being issues if we simply took the Spire.Doc assembly and put it into that project. If I can overwrite the DLLs without conflict, I would download and use it. Otherwise, we will wait for the full Spire.Office hotfix.

Thank you again,
Tom
