I have a PDF that open fine in Adobe, but when added (concatenated) into a document we have a simple page that contains the message "please wait" indicating that the viewer can not manipulate the PDF.
Opening the PDF in chrome gives the same result (ie a page with the same message). In Firefox we have a set of fields that are empty, and no other values.
Internet searches indicate that this may be XFA PDF.
Is there a way to concatenate those PDF with the correct result ?
Thanks in advance
Guillaume

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry.
We apologize that the issue SPIREPDF-7967 has not been resolved yet. You can use the following code to check if the current PDF contains XFA fields.
- Code: Select all
PdfDocument doc = new PdfDocument();
doc.LoadFromFile(pdfs[0]);
PdfFormWidget formWidget = doc.Form as PdfFormWidget;
List xfafields = formWidget.XFAForm.XfaFields;
int count = xfafields.Count;

Amy

sorry, but what is the equivalent in Java ?
Also is there a way to separate Dynamic XFA PDF and Static XFA PDF; a sit seems that the first is problematic ?
Or to move from the first to the second one (flattening ?)

Hello,
I apologize. Please take a look at the following Java code.
- Code: Select all
PdfFormWidget formWidget = (PdfFormWidget)doc.getForm();
List xfafields = formWidget.getXFAForm().getXfaFields();
int count = xfafields.size();
As for your proposed solution, I am sorry to say that we cannot achieve it at the moment. We do not have robust support for XFA yet because it is quite complex, but we are currently working hard to improve this.
Sincerely,
Amy

I understand that the problem is hard. If google has this problem with chrome, it's not going to be an easy one
As a workaround, detecting that a PDF is a dynamic XFA PDF would be a good start, as this would allow to detect that there will be a problem.
Detecting XFA fields is not enough, as there can be some XFA fields *without* the PDF being dynamic.
so a method /code that would allow to detect the dynamic part would be nice
thanks
