Hello,
I'm preparing a project using Spire.doc for .Net with Visual.
I'm using Nuget to upload the latest version of Spire.doc.

Is it necessary to deliver the “sub-DLLs”, in addition to Spire.doc.dll?
See the attached screenshot for a better understanding.

Regards
William

Hello William,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes, these sub-DLL files are necessary. They are required DLL files for certain functionalities within Spire.Doc.dll.

Sincerely,
Amy

Okay, thanks.
I'm still new to Visual .NET8 projects, do you have any idea how to get all the necessary DLLs into a “Dependencies” subfolder of the generation folder?
Regards
William

Hello William,

Thank you for your further inquiry.

There are two ways to install Spire.Doc: one is through NuGet, and the other is manual installation.

1. When installing Spire.Doc via NuGet, all dependent DLLs will be automatically installed into the project through NuGet, requiring no additional actions.
2. When manually adding the Spire.Doc.dll to the project, you need to install the following dependent DLL files into the project via NuGet one by one. After that, no further actions are required.
Code: Select all
Microsoft.Win32.Registry >= 5.0.0
System.Drawing.Common >= 6.0.0
System.Security.Permissions >= 6.0.0
System.Text.Encoding.CodePages >= 6.0.0
System.Security.Cryptography.Pkcs >= 6.0.0
System.Security.Cryptography.Xml >= 6.0.0
HarfBuzzSharp >= 2.6.1.5

Regarding your request to get all the dependent DLL files, you can find them in your local directory where the NuGet package has been downloaded.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

Sincerely,
Amy

Thanks for the answer.
I do use the nuget method.
But my question was about generating the project and moving these DLLs to a “Dependencies” subfolder of the production folder.

Hi William,

The DLLs that Spire.Doc.dll depends on, as mentioned above, must be placed in the same directory as Spire.Doc.dll. They also need to be located alongside the project's executable. The dependent DLLs and Spire.Doc.dll cannot be placed in separate directories.

Amy

Yes, I understand that.
But my project generates an assembly, and I want it to load all the “Spire.doc + Dependencies” DLLs from a “Dependencies” subfolder.

William

Hi William,

For your situation, perhaps you should use the <probing> element in your configuration file.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/configure-apps/file-schema/runtime/probing-element

Hope it can help you.

Hi Amy,
Thanks for your help.
One last question.
If I produce a DLL only for Windows X64 platforms, do I really need to provide anything other than Spire.doc.dll with my DLL?
Regards
William

Hi William,

Sorry for the delay response as the different time zones.

The functionalities in our Spire.Doc.dll depend on the following DLLs. If any of them are missing, the program will throw an exception. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that all dependent DLLs are available when using Spire.Doc.dll.

Sincerely,
Amy
