Dear Community, dear Support,

we're currently evaluating Spire.Office Platinum and facing a certain issue when using rowspans in Spire.PDF grid.

When a rowspan is larger then rows fit on a page, the rowspan gets truncanted/shifted.
Screenshot showing the issue:

Additionally, we attached a sample PDF and a C# code for you to retrace the issue.

We're looking forward to your suggestions!

Hello Lisa,

thank you for the hotfix, unfortunately, the issue is not really solved. It seems it has just shifted the problem from the first column to the second column.
Just scroll to page 4-5 in the attached pdf to see what I mean.
You can create the pdf by just using the C# sample from my originally attached zip file.
Additional it seems that due to the changes in the hotfix, rowspans will no longer stay together. Was that intentionally?

Regards Christian

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback.
When adding the rows of grid to 280, I did notice the issue you mentioned. This issue will be forwarded to our Dev team for further investigating, if there is any update. We will let you know. Besides, I didn’t quite understand what you mean by "rowspans will no longer stay together", could you please provide detailed information? The screenshot that shows the problem will be greatly helpful, thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

thank you for keep investigating this issue.

Before the hotfix, rowspans did not split on a page break.
The only exception: if the whole rowspan was too large to fit on a page it got split up.
After the hotfix rowspans are not longer kept together on a page break.
The best solution would be a setting in the grid where you can define which rowspan should split on a page break.

regards Christian

Hello,

Greetings from E-icbelue.
As for the reported issue, I got the news from our Dev team that we must take the height of minimum cell as cardinal number to split rows when a rowspan is larger than rows fitting on a page. Thus, there is no way to keep the rowspans together on a page break at the same time. Hope you can understand! And the attachment shows the effect of our fixing, once it passes the test, we will compile a hotfix for you ASAP.

Sincerely,
Lisa
