Hi,
I'm currently evaluating Spire for creating word and pdf documents. I've been testing some sample layouts using tables and have come across an issue when saving the documents to pdf. I'm trying to create a table that looks something like the table in the CreatedWithWord2013.docx document that is in the attached sample. I can create a docx using Word 2013 and use Spire to convert it to pdf and everything looks fine. I can create the document using Spire and save it to a docx which looks fine but the table does not look correct when saved to a pdf.
When examining the contents of the docxs, there are a couple of differences in the tables created with Word 2013 and the version created with Spire:
1. Number of columns
- Word 2013 = 4 columns
<w:tblGrid>
<w:gridCol w:w="1080"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="4320"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="3240"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="2160"/>
</w:tblGrid>
- Spire = 7 Columns (seems to include extra columns for the merged cells)
<w:tblGrid>
<w:gridCol w:w="1080"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="4320"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="2700"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="540"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="2700"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="2160"/>
<w:gridCol w:w="2700"/>
</w:tblGrid>
2. Use of "gridSpan" versus "hMerge"
- Word 2013
<w:gridSpan w:val="2"/>
- Spire
<w:hMerge w:val="continue"/>
And
<w:hMerge w:val="restart"/>
Saving to pdf will be a major requirement for us and before we buy a license I would like to know if there is something that can be done to make this work.
I've attached a sample console app to illustrate the problem.
Thanks,
Mark
