Hi Lucy,
I am going to use Spire.pdf first time.
Can you pl. tell me about, page limit for the free one. Is it 50 pages per document or only OR total 50 pdf files we can create as a whole?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for your inquiry.
Please try to use the plugin method and following code:

Code: Select all
            StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
            HtmlTextWriter htw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
            this.RenderControl(htw);
            string sourceCode = sw.ToString();
            //get the aspx url
            string url = HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.AbsoluteUri;
            Spire.Pdf.HtmlConverter.Qt.HtmlConverter.Convert(url, @"F:\NewMethodResult.pdf",
            //enable javascript
            true,
           //load timeout
           100 * 1000,
           //page size
           new SizeF(612, 792),
          //page margins
          new PdfMargins(40, 40));

Hi Besty,

I have tried your suggestion. But no luck
here is the error

An exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in Spire.Pdf.dll but was not handled in user code

Additional information: The conversion provider cann't be found.

Here is my code:
StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
HtmlTextWriter htw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
this.RenderControl(htw);
string sourceCode = sw.ToString();
string url = HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.AbsoluteUri;
Spire.Pdf.HtmlConverter.Qt.HtmlConverter.Convert(url, @"F:\TestInvoice.pdf", true, 100 * 1000, new SizeF(612, 792), new PdfMargins(40, 40));

Please advise.
Thank you.

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have downloaded the plugin and copied the folder 'plugins' under the same folder of Spire.Pdf.dll.
You could check the detailed information with clicking the text "plugin method" in the last post, and here is the direct download link: https://www.e-iceblue.com/downloads/hot ... lugins.zip
Besides, you could directly specify the path using following code:
Code: Select all
Spire.Pdf.HtmlConverter.Qt.HtmlConverter.PluginPath = @"F:\testing\bin\Debug\plugins\";

Hi Besty,

Downloaded the plugin as you said and copied the folder too.
Still getting the error at last line of the below code. Please help me to overcome this error.
I dont have "debug" folder in the path. so I copied the plugin folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\e-iceblue\Spire.Pdf-Fe\Bin\NET4.0 ClientProfile

protected void btnSavenPrint_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Spire.Pdf.HtmlConverter.Qt.HtmlConverter.PluginPath = @"C:\Program Files (x86)\e-iceblue\Spire.Pdf-Fe\Bin\NET4.0 ClientProfile";
StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
HtmlTextWriter htw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
this.RenderControl(htw);
string sourceCode = sw.ToString();
string url = HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.AbsoluteUri;
Spire.Pdf.HtmlConverter.Qt.HtmlConverter.Convert(url, @"C:\TestInvoice.pdf", true, 100 * 1000, new SizeF(612, 792), new PdfMargins(40, 40));
}

Hi,

Thanks for your information.
In a Web application, you need to copy the "plugin" folder in Bin folder or set the file path using the code I mentioned before.
Besides, here are two demos for you.
http://www.e-iceblue.com/downloads/demo/16187Demos.zip
One uses the free Spire.Doc. The another uses the free Spire.PDF, note it would throw a C# error after generating the correct PDF, the reason is that I add <pages enableEventValidation ="false" ></pages> in Web.config for avoiding the RegisterForEventValidation, might you could have another good solution.
Please check the two demos and check if they meet your requirement.

Betsy
