I am using NET 8.0 and FreeSpire.PDF (latest version 10.2.0) in an application to identify the coordinates by searching for a text within a PDF. It is working fine in Windows OS but when I try to run the application in the Linux environment it is not working. Can you help me with a solution for this?

Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry.

For Linux systems, please use our .NETStandard2.0 DLL.

When searching for and installing FreeSpire.PDF via NuGet, the default installation is the .NET 6.0 DLL, which has a dependency on System.Drawing.Common.
Therefore, I recommend that you install our commercial version of Spire.PDF for .NETStandard DLLs via NuGet:
https://www.nuget.org/packages/Spire.PDFfor.NETStandard/10.11.7
We can provide you with a one-month temporary license to help you evaluate our product without any watermarks or restrictions.

Alternatively, you can also download FreeSpire.PDF from our website(https://www.e-iceblue.com/Download/download-pdf-for-net-free.html). After installation, you will obtain the .NETStandard DLL locally, and you can manually add the DLLs under .NETStandard 2.0 to your project as well. Make sure to also include any necessary dependent DLLs that come with the .NETStandard 2.0 package.
Code: Select all
SkiaSharp >= 2.80.0
System.Text.Encoding.CodePages >= 4.5.0
System.Memory >= 4.5.0
System.Buffers >= 4.5.0
System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe >= 4.5.0

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
Amy

Hi Amy. Thanks for your reply.

As per your instructions I had downloaded FreeSpire.PDF from the URL that you mentioned and manually added the Spire.Pdf.dll from the netstandard2.0 folder to my .NET 8.0 console app. After that installed the below packages from NuGet.
SkiaSharp >= 2.80.0
System.Text.Encoding.CodePages >= 4.5.0
System.Memory >= 4.5.0
System.Buffers >= 4.5.0
System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe >= 4.5.0

But when I try to run the console application it is throwing the error in the below code . Please help.

List<PdfTextFragment> fragments = finder.Find("Positioning Text");

System.MissingMethodException: 'Method not found: 'SkiaSharp.SKPathVerb Iterator.Next(SkiaSharp.SKPoint[], Boolean, Boolean)'.'

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

On the Linux system, please try to install SkiaSharp.NativeAssets.Linux.NoDependencies and uninstall SkiaSharp. https://www.nuget.org/packages/SkiaSharp.NativeAssets.Linux.NoDependencies

Amy
