I am attempting to flatten fields in Spire.PDF.

However, the method provided in the examples doesn't actually flatten the file.

In fact, when I attempt save the file that I set "isFlatten = true" I get an error:

"Please wait... If this message is not replaced by the contents of the file..."

Any ideas?

Thanks for the replay.

I updated the .ddls to no avail.

I can open a saved .pdf but setting pdfDOc.form.isflatten = true doesn't result in a flattened PDF file.

Having the same issue here with the latest 8.9.2 verion of spire pdf dll. Old version flattened the IRS form just fine, but now it will not. Same form will flatten ok if I use Adobe. Please advise.

Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry.
Now, the latest version of Spire.Pdf is V8.11.0. I used the latest version to test your scenario but I didn’t reproduce it. Please update to the latest version and have a test again. If the issue still exists, please offer the following message. Thanks for your assistance in advance.
1) Your Pdf document, you can attach here or send it to us via email ([email protected]).
2) Your full test code that can reproduce your issue.
3) Application type, such as Console App, .NET Framework 4.8.
4) Your test environment, such as OS info (E.g. Windows 7, 64-bit) and region setting (E.g. China, Chinese).

Sincerely

I am testing out the product for use and this is currently happening for me as well. There are no errors and the file saves. When I open the new file the fields are not flattened.

I am using version Spire.Office 9.5.0 for .Net
It is a Console .NET 6.0 application, targeting Windows 7.0.

Code: Select all
string path = "path to source"
string newFile = "path to destination"

Spire.Pdf.PdfDocument pdf = new Spire.Pdf.PdfDocument();
pdf.LoadFromFile(path);
pdf.Form.IsFlatten = true;

PdfFormWidget formWidget = pdf.Form as PdfFormWidget;
formWidget.IsFlatten = true; //tried this in case it would help

pdf.SaveToFile(newFile, Spire.Pdf.FileFormat.PDF);

I can't provide the document but it is in an XFA format that was created with LifeCycle Designer.

Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry.
Do you want to flatten the XFA fields in PDF file? If so, unfortunately, our Spire.PDF does not support this feature yet. I have added it to our update list with the number SPIREPDF-630. I will notify you as soon as it is available in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello, I am also looking for a feature to flatten XFA forms in Spire.PDF. May I ask about possible delivery date of the SPIREPDF-630 ? I would really use this soon.

Thanks,

Jan

Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry.
Sorry, due to the complex internal logic, our development team has not yet made breakthrough progress on this feature. So we cannot provide a delivery date. Thank you for your understanding.
