Thank you, much appreciated - Sorry to be the one chasing again but I'm back to not being able to release to my client, who is chasing me twice a day for a fix. Anything you can do to get the Hot Fix out asap would be greatly appreciated :D

I'm sure this is another expression of the same issue, but I'm getting an exception when loading an Excel document when using the patched version, I include this just in case it is helpful:

System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'sprួ' threw an exception. ---> System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException: Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.
at System.Reflection.RuntimeModule.GetTypes(RuntimeModule module)
at System.Reflection.Assembly.GetTypes()
at sprួ..cctor()

Hi Lisa, I'm back :shock:

The FindText method using TextFindParameter.Regex still doesn't seem to be working correctly with certain files :(

The attached file is an excel file that was converted to a PDF (using Spire.Xls and save as a PDF). If I then run the code below nothing gets highlighted when Co-Founder should be highlighted.

Code: Select all
        public void SpreadsheetPDFTest()
        {
            string strFileName = @"\\Mac\Dropbox\Source\source\Grain Silo\Test Data\staff list.xlsx.pdf";
            string strTarget = @"\\Mac\Dropbox\Source\source\Grain Silo\Test Data\Redacted\staff list.xlsx.pdf";
            string strSearchText = @"(\b)(Co-Founder)(\b)";
            Spire.Pdf.PdfDocument pdf = new PdfDocument(strFileName);
            TextFindParameter tfp = new TextFindParameter();

            tfp = TextFindParameter.Regex;

            foreach (PdfTextFind text in pdf.Pages[0].FindText(strSearchText, tfp).Finds)
            {
                text.ApplyHighLight(System.Drawing.Color.Gold);
            }

            pdf.SaveToFile(strTarget);

            pdf.Dispose();
        }

Can you get the devs on the case urgently again.

Many thanks in advance,

Darren

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your feedback.
I tried to open you file in Adobe and then find the word "Co-Founder" but no matches were found. Then I copied and pasted it into a Word document but found that it garbled, as shown below. This is a problem with the PDF itself, hope you can understand.

Besides, you mentioned that this PDF document was generated using our Spire.XLS, you can directly provide your Excel document to us, then we will further investigate if there is any solution for you.

Sincerely,
Rachel

Rachel,

Thanks for the prompt response, attached are the files for the code below:

Code: Select all
        public void SpreadsheetPDFTest()
        {
            string strXLSFileName = @".\staff list 2.xlsx";
            string strFileName = @".\staff list.xlsx.pdf";
            string strTarget = @".\staff list.xlsx.pdf";
            string strSearchText = @"(\b)(Co-Founder)(\b)";
            Spire.Xls.Workbook workbook = new Workbook();

            // Convert XLSX to PDF
            workbook.LoadFromFile(strXLSFileName);
            workbook.SaveToFile(strFileName, Spire.Xls.FileFormat.PDF);
            workbook.Dispose();

            // Highlight PDF
            Spire.Pdf.PdfDocument pdf = new PdfDocument(strFileName);
            TextFindParameter tfp = new TextFindParameter();

            tfp = TextFindParameter.Regex;

            foreach (PdfTextFind text in pdf.Pages[0].FindText(strSearchText, tfp).Finds)
            {
                text.ApplyHighLight(System.Drawing.Color.Gold);
            }

            pdf.SaveToFile(strTarget);

            pdf.Dispose();
        }

Hello,

Thanks for your response.
I converted your Excel file to PDF using the temporary version spire.office v5.6.9, but found that some words were cut off, as shown below. However the PDF file you provided is correct. Which version of Spire.Office are you using? And please also tell us your OS information (E.g. Windows 7, 64 bit) and region setting (E.g. China, Chinese). Thanks in advance.

Meanwhile, regarding the new PDF file you provided, I have verified that the word "Co-Founder" can be found in Adobe. But using our product to find it failed. This issue has been logged in our bug tracking system with ticket SPIREPDF-3374 for further investigation. If it is fixed, we will let you know ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Sincerely,
Rachel

Rachel,

Thanks for raising the ticket. Can you make sure that this has a high priority because the FindText issues continue to hold up a client release.

In respect to systems settings: Windows 10, 64bit, UK/English region. Through those regional settings, my standard page size is A4, I don't know if that may be a difference between our configurations which may cause the bunching up of the columns in the PDF version.

I hope that helps,

Darren
