Hi there,

Just would like to know if internet access is required for the license in Spire.? As in does it poll for validity? My client is looking to bloster their security by closing internet access for the servers that Spire is installed on. Just wondering would it cause any problems?

The Spire License is embedded in a Lib folder next to the Doc and PDF dlls.

Thanks.

Hi there again,

Just a quick follow up.. Is all processing done locally on the application server for document creation and License validation?

There aren't any external calls out to the internet for anything I mean? There's sensitive data been processed in our use case.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry.
Yes, all processes are done locally on the application server. There is no external calls out to the internet. Our products do not need to be connected to the internet. Just go ahead.

Dear E-Iceblue Support Team,

Could you confirm if this is still valid?
Our security team found out connection attempt from our servers running the .NET Office library to e-iceblue.cn domain (121.40.240.162 api.e-iceblue.cn)
Thanks in advance for clarifying why we can see these connection attempts if the solution doesn't need internet access.

Thanks & Regards

Hello NOCRobin,

Thank you for your inquiry.
Regarding the connection attempts to the e-iceblue.cn domain (121.40.240.162 api.e-iceblue.cn) from your servers running the .NET Office library, we would like to clarify that these attempts are made as part of a licensing mechanism with usage restrictions. It is an asynchronous connection used to check if the deployment address exceeds the authorized limits.
Please be assured that these connection attempts are not related to any data transmission or unauthorized access. They solely serve the purpose of license compliance verification. If your solution does not require internet access, rest assured that no actual data exchange takes place during these attempts.

Sincerely,
Annika
