When I try to view a pdf with the PDFViewer it open but the find functionality does not work for the pdf I am viewing. What would cause this problem? I am sure that I am not the only person that has had this problem with the PDFViewer.

I am unable to send a sample pdf as they have private financial information within them. Is there any way to get some sort of documentation on things I can do to fix the problem myself or suggestions on what might be causing the find Functionality not to work on the pdfs in questions.

The pdfs are created by iConvert 5.0 and are version 1.3 is that makes a difference one way or another.

Hi jcharneski2001,

Thanks for your response.
If you are using older version of Spire.PDFViewer, we first suggest upgrading to the latest Spire.PDFViewer Pack Version:2.10.
After trying this version, if the issue still exists, I am afraid that the only way to fix this issue is providing us sample document via email, as different document maybe has different reason caused this issue. And we will appreciate if you can provide us the sample file, and promise to keep it confidential.

Sincerely,
Betsy

Hi Betsy,

Does the Spire.PdfViewer have any OCR capability for finding text on scanned images? I think the way the pdfs are created is the problem.

Thanks,

Jeff Charneski

Does Spire have anything for converting scanned image pdfs to searchable pdfs? Is what I should have asked before. The mainframe producing the pdfs creates them as images without text so the find functionality your company offers on the PdfViewer will not work on the pdfs I am using.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your response.
Spire.PDFViewer first draws the content on the Winform and then find the text on Winform by coordinate.
Please make sure if Adobe can find the text on your PDF. If it can, the fast way to fix this issue is providing us the sample document.

Thank,
Betsy
