Issue converting word doc to pdf

When converting a word document to pdf, I'm losing some word spacing in the header.

For example:

Clinical Trials: "Are any right for Jane Doe?"

in the word doc becomes

Clinical Trials: "Are any rightfor Jane Doe?"

in the PDF.

Any suggestions as to what would be causing this?
