Hello

It was a while I was not working on this project and Spire.xls. I see that at least two patches are issued within this period. I would like to ask if this matter of file saving (considering both file size and saving of validation results) is included or not.

thanks

Hi,

I just got some feedback about size issue from our Dev team. In fact, the result size increases, you need to check the actual size on the basis of the size after unzipping rather than the compressed one, that is, the original file is about 74kb, the result file is about 76k. Due to the difference between MS excel and our product in internal mechanism, the delicate difference in size is inevitable. The result file can be opened successfully by MS Excel and data in it is not missing, so there is no issue with our product.

Thanks for the feedback.
There is no issue with your product being opened by MS excel for sure, but there are times that your file is gona be opened using OpenXML by third party softwares. I think being aligned with MS openofficexml is at least a good Idea, because it is by Microsoft, although you are not responsible for other third party packages.
If we could read the file using openofficexml, some burden could be lifted from your product and your development team. For example, I wish I could read data of excel shapes from file. For the matter evaluation formula, If I could read the formula from openofficexml, I would have solved my problem in another way much sooner. Files saved by spire can't be opened with openoffice. I suggest it is good to be solved.
Regards

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.
After investigation, the issue might be caused by the compatibility of OpenXML. And we will investigate it further, once there is any good news, we will let you know.
