We just purchased our renewal. Can we drop the xml file into an existing project WITHOUT recompiling? Do we even need to do this or does the renewal just allow us access to newer versions? If you could summarize functionality, would appreciate it

How do you apply your license? If you place your license file in the folder that contains the entry assembly (your assembly named .exe), there is no need to recompile. But if you include your license file as an embedded resource, you need to recompile your project.
Besides, yes, as you know that the renewal license allows you to upgrade the newer versions. Your renewed license is valid for any version released before the expiration date (2021/2/23).
