It seems that FreeSpire.XLS doesn't support latest Excel 2016 files.
I wrote simple code:

Workbook wb = new Workbook();
wb.LoadFromFile(@"E:\Sample.xlsx");
wb.SaveToFile(@"E:\Sample2.xlsx");

Sample.xlsx was created 6 month ago and code works fine. When I opened and saved it with the latest Excel 2016 i got error message that the file Sample2.xlsx is corrupted and couldn't be repaired.

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the free version doesn't support Excel 2016. Please use the full version(Spire.XLS Pack Hotfix Version:7.12.140) which supports it and try again. If the issue still exists, please share us with your input Excel file.

Best regards,
Simon

Dear bhavna.pruthi823,

Thanks for your inquiry.
After an initial testing, I noticed the name range was missing after copying sheet, and posted the issue to our Dev team. Yet I didn't reproduce the issue that the data was lost. Please share us your input Excel and the code you were using to help us do an further investigation.

Sincerely,
Betsy

Hello ,

is there a chance that FreeSpire will include hotfix for Excel 2016 (365) support soon?
As I understood, Hotfix this is only available for full version, right?

If I'm wrong, I would be happy to receive any advice how to use FreeSpire under this conditions.

Many Thanks in advance
Franz K.

Dear Franz K,

Thanks for your inquiry.
Your understanding is right. We have no plan to update the free version at present, the hotfix is only available for full version. I suggest that you use the full one (at present the latest version is Spire.XLS Pack(Hotfix) Version:8.8.1), we could offer a temporary license (one month free) to help you remove the evaluation message and evaluate our product better. If interested, please tell me or directly contact our sales team (sales@e-iceblue.com) to get it.

Sincerely,
Nina
