Does shape/image have any restrictions?

Hello,
Once I inserted an image into the shape on the document whose size seems to be AO. But the image stretched in X and Y lastly.
Does shape/image have any restrictions?

The image may be resized in his lenght (x-size).
You can se it on the image in the pdf.
